Consolidated Earnings Growth
Net income attributable to Loews increased to $444 million, or $2.16 per share, driven by higher net income at CNA (due to higher net investment income and lower investment losses), Loews Hotels & Co (higher average daily rates and occupancy), and Boardwalk Pipelines (higher contracting rates and product sales).
CNA P&C Underlying Underwriting Profitability Declined
The underlying combined ratio for Property & Casualty Operations rose to 94.2% in Q2 2026 from 91.7% a year ago, primarily due to a higher underlying loss ratio in Specialty and Commercial lines, including excess casualty and workers' compensation.
Boardwalk Pipelines Growth Projects
Boardwalk has growth projects expected to add 4.5 Bcf/d of pipeline capacity and 10 Bcf of storage capacity at an estimated cost of $3.4 billion, with completion through 2030, contingent upon regulatory approvals and permits.
