Sharp Rise in Costs Compresses Margins
Cost of revenues rose 62.6%, primarily due to higher shipping and fulfillment costs (up $1,038 million in the quarter), cost of goods sold, and fintech funding costs, leading to gross margin contraction from 45.6% to 40.9%.
Strong Local Currency Growth Despite FX Headwinds
In local currencies, Brazil revenue grew 41.9% and Mexico 38.4%, while Argentina posted 47.5% growth, partially offset by currency depreciation against the U.S. dollar (Argentine peso up 22.5%).
